I got up early, had my morning cup of brew, I said my prayers (very important). And got ready to leave for USC. While on the road I looked around me and realized, God’s grace was all around, even though it was a hazy hot morning, traffic was light. I was at the University gates in no time at all. I  parked my car and went for a visit to the Shrine of Our Blessed Mother and gave her my morning praise, then continued my walk to the San Miguel building, with a smile on my face, and a heart full of hope to finish the work  on my Moviemaker clip and Field Trip Newsletter. I was greeted by Marcia, Sandra and Prof. Colón (great pals to have), all unique individuals in their own rights. Today was Sandra’s turn to begin the morning activities, which she did very well, she opened with a poem by Maya Angelou, it stated that you must not be afraid to face new things and the reassuring phrase: “I am not afraid, at all!” This was a very inspiring Mantra to start on our work for the day, Thank You! Sandra, you “did make my day.”

Marialina took us on a beautiful trip to Maui’s Four Seasons Resort. Wow!, wish I was in Maui right now, heaven knows ,I need a break! Them she got us laughing with a vid of a cow dancing Hip-hop. Talk about churned butter!Yeah , right , extra creamy. Today I felt a little better but I had a setback with my Moviemaker clip that ticked me off and Elizabeth helped me get through it. She is a true Guardian Angel.

Today I got to the university a little later than usual, I did not have a very good  Father’s Day ( gloom) : (  Hey! but it was good none the less. I did not really feel up to class today but I reevaluated my mental state and decided it was best to channal my emotions through something I really enjoy. Am I glad I made that decision. When I got here everyone was busy working on their Moviemaker project; just what I needed. As I began to work my stress levels started to drop, by the time I had selected my pictures, my mind was void of all ill thoughts. Thank God , and my classmates.

Today is our Field Trip to the University of Puerto Rico and it’s Museum. I was very excited because I had never gotten on the “TREN URBANO”, it was like riding the monorail at Disney World, awesome! As we rode toward the Rio Piedras station I enjoyed looking out the window at the beautiful urban skyline, so diverse and modern with little specks of traditional architecture all over. It was a very smooth and comfortable ride. Once  at the UPR campus we went to the museum where we got to see two exhibits, Taino Ceremonial Artifacts and the Egyptian exhibit with it’s mummy and lots of ancient burial artifacts. We also had a walking tour of the campus where we took loads of pictures, thanks to the new digital photo equipment and memory sticks we never ran out of “film”. Then we had a delicious healthy lunch at the Students Center.

Today was Marcia’s turn to start off the class. She presented a beautiful poem inspired by her son. Life has not been easy for her, I admire her inmensely. God loves you Marcie (upps) Marcia!. Then we went to the nitty-gritty: ” MOVIEMAKER II “, the program! Luis always gives me what I want. Even though I still have a long road to go; move over Mr. Spielberg, George Lucas, stand back! With Liza and all my companions I realize that: Life is good! ,  Life is full of good people and I appreciate the opportunity that God gives me every day. Love you guys! “Happy Father’s Day, Luis!”.

We started the day off with a very touching PP presentation by Arlene, it really made you reevaluate how we respond to our students, I suggest we do it very carefully and with lots of love and understanding. After speaking with Luis it was decided we would create our Instructional Modules in groups that shared the same grade levels. Our  group is composed by Arlene, Ruth and myself. Prof. Colón had us get together to determine what each of us would contribute to the module. I know this will be a turning point in our points of view and teaching styles, but hey!,  life is full of modifications and adjustments. That’s why the learning process is progressive. Overall, it was another great day at USC.
